Top Five Tips For Maximum Curb Appeal

When you put your home on the market you’ll be competing against all of the other homes for sale in Nanaimo.

So you’ll want to be sure to put your best foot forward and try to make sure that buyers will choose your Nanaimo home first instead of the house just down the street.

Five Curb Appeal Tips

Homes for sale in NanaimoHere are my favorite top five tips to improve the curb appeal of your home for sale in Nanaimo:

1.  Keep the landscaping neat and tidy.

If you normally do your yard work once a week consider doing a touch-up in the middle of the week as well so that your yard will always look great to a prospective buyer.

2.  Keep the windows washed.

Ditto with the windows as with the landscaping.  You want to make sure that nothing distracts a potential buyer from the beauty of your home.   If you’ve got a dirty window they might well start wondering what else isn’t being kept up like it should be.

3.  Make sure the newspapers are picked up.

If you’re in a rush to leave for work in the morning it’s tempting to just leave grabbing the newspaper for later that day.  As innocent as doing this might seem it can end up being another distraction for a buyer who becomes more interested in what you read than your home for sale.

4.  Plant some fresh flowers.

You may be planting some flowers this time of year anyway.  But, go ahead and plant some more.  Bright, cheery colors will grab the eye of your buyer and engage them in taking the time to look at your home.

5.  Keep cars out of the driveway.

There’s just something about having a car parked in the driveway that makes a house look cluttered.  You might have one of the larger homes for sale in Nanaimo, but if a buyer’s first impression is that your house is too small you’ll be in the defensive position of having to convince them that it’s really bigger than it looks.
