As always there are so many things to do in Nanaimo. However, I thought I would list what I think are the top four things to do this month for Nanaimo families.
Sat. May 14th -The ‘Centennial Celebration' is an opportunity for the Nanaimo public to experience and appreciate the incredible revitalization of this historic corner of downtown. The schedule of events kicks off at noon on Saturday, May 14 and all events are free. Location: Gallery Row 310 Fitzwilliam St.
Paddlefest 2011 -- May 14& 15th -Vancouver Island Paddlefest 2011- Held in Ladysmith- is a weekend festival with activities and events for paddlers of all ages and paddling abilities. Located at Transfer Beach in Ladysmith. Participants can attend this free event and enjoy a variety of activities including vendor/trade show, workshops, demonstrations and fun activities.
May long weekend - May 21-23-Nanaimo Empire Days Events May 2010 The highlight of this weekend long event, for me, is the fireworks display on Sunday night at 10:00. You won't be disappointed
May 29 - Hospital Foundation Run For Life. This is a 5K. walk or run being held at Bowen Park. Organizers hope to register 200 participants and raise $20,000. to purchase essential equipment for the Emergency Room expansion at NRGH. Register by calling 250-755-7690
