Things to do in Nanaimo in June

It's a beautiful, sunny day in the month of June here in Nanaimo. The roses are out and the weather has finally warmed up.

I have been reading through the activities going on this month in Nanaimo.  As always there are so many things to do with your spare time. However, I thought I would list what I think are the top four things to do this month for Nanaimo families.

Things to do in Nanaimo in JuneNanaimo Bastion Daily Cannon Firing-  98 Front St

Beginning on Wed June 08, 2011 - Mon September 05, 2011. 

Every day at noon throughout the summer you can watch the exciting cannon firing ceremony. In addition to the firing of the cannon you can enjoy the sound of local bagpiper Bill Poppy has accompanied this ceremonial re-enactment for the past 20 years. On Thursday and Saturday between late June and Labour Day is the Brigadoon Dance Academy's highland dancers.

Bowen Road Farmers' Market-

Wed June 08, 2011 - Wed October 26, 2011

The Bowen Road Farmers' market is a fun & vibrant market. Every week they feature musicians and a wide variety of vendors & excellent products produced by organic growers who transport their food within a 80 km (50 mi) radius.

Nanaimo Multicultural Festival

June 24th-25 All day

Live music, cultural demonstartions and family entertainment in the Fitzwilliam Street area.
