The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has identified a trend amongst young homebuyers (Gen Xers).  They are looking for homes with a connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, even in colder climates, to create the perception of greater home size, even if the space is only usable for part of the year."

Here are a few summer house selling tips:

1. Keep your home cool.  If you don’t have air conditioning then open some windows to allow a breeze.  You want buyers to be cool and comfortable as they tour your home.  Also, heat brings out unpleasant odours.  If you have pets a hot house will make the pet smell stronger.

2. Keep your landscaping in top shape.  Trim, cut and shape your lawn and shrubs.

3. Stage your patio or deck.  Power wash and clean patio furnishings.  Put out colourful plant baskets.  Use candles, glasses and place settings on your outdoor table.  Make the outdoors look inviting.  Help buyers see themselves lounging and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
