There's no time like the present, as they say, and nothing can be truer than that, especially when it comes to buying a home in Nanaimo.

1.  Sellers have their summer vacations over with, the kids are back in school, and there are fewer distractions to deal with.

2.  The holiday season is still in the distant future, and that can be the perfect motivation for a prospective seller to make a deal, so that the family doesn't have to have the added stress of trying to sell their home over the holidays. 

3.  Home sellers may also be more motivated with winter just around the corner.  People trying to sell a home know that winter can be one of the worst times to be on the property market and if they don't sell before winter comes, then their house could easily be on the market for several extra months.

4.  Job relocations often occur around the first of the year, which can mean a motivated seller, something that is always good to find for a well qualified buyer.  A motivated seller potentially means a better price and flexibility in terms, giving you the buyer a few extra buying bonuses.

5.  People involved in the buying and selling of real estate -  inspectors, lenders and others - are all in business and typically have year-end sales figures that they need to meet.  When you are a buyer who is able to close the sale by the end of the year, you may very well find some discounts that you normally would not find at other times of the year.
