For parents, educational opportunity is one of the most important factors to consider when moving to Nanaimo.

What are the schools like? Where are they? What are the opportunities for post-secondary education?

Believe me, I’ve asked all these questions. With two kids, I’ve graduated many times:  from elementary,  high school and now university, right here in the Nanaimo area. I can vouch for the excellence of the programs in Nanaimo schools and the variety they offer students.

School District 68 (Nanaimo-Ladysmith) serves about 14,000 students in Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Lantzville, Gabriola Island, Cedar and surrounding areas.  Our Nanaimo schools offer programs from Kindergarten to Grade 12, programs for pre-schoolers, and adult education.
