The Regional District of Nanaimo is hosting several Green Building Workshops and Open Houses in June.

If you are planning to build or renovate a house in Nanaimo over the next year you might wish to participate in one or all of these open houses or free workshops.  The following topics will be covered:

• The environmental impacts development can have on your property and surrounding landscape.
• A look at alternative systems that could bring your project closer to producing energy, harvesting rainwater and recycling grey water.
• Learn about  cost-effective ways to reduce your project's environmental footprint.

The RDN will also be offering Green Building Open Houses

These open houses are a great opportunity to visit and view a selected number of innovative green buildings and houses in our region. Learn first-hand how various sustainability measures are incorporated into the design and construction of these projects.
